Melanie marie sklodowski

Melanie Marie is based in Chicago but is a traveling artist. She has 10+ years in the industry.

 

She has a cosmetology license as well as a background in business and fine arts. She excels in media and time period hair and makeup, hair design, men’s grooming and barbering and has a passion for special effects and wig styling. When she isn’t in her studio creating for her clients, she is on-set doing hair and makeup for photoshoots and films.
 
Her love affair with art and beauty began at an early age, when she would recreate hair and makeup applications of favorite musical artists and draw her own comic books. She's a perpetual student and commits to continuing education, organization and sanitation. To unwind, she loves to kickbox, travel, go to concerts and conventions.
 
She combines her passion for hair and makeup with holistic wellness, sustainability and the environment. She has certifications in reiki, crystal healing and aromatherapy and incorporates them into her craft. She devotes time to organizations such as Green Circle and Alliance of the Great Lakes to name a few.

The chemical and organic elements in Melanie’s work are complemented by her penchant for fine art, the mystical, and the avant garde artists of her youth.
